Research

The Wu group’s current research interests are design, synthesis, and application of functional hybrid nanostructures. We mainly seek to develop new synthetic tools for (hybrid) nanostructures with desired spatial composition, morphology, and interconnecting. These nanostructures can be regarded as building blocks for self-assembly into functional materials with a variety of shapes by tuning their surface chemistry. We then study their intriguing physiochemical properties and potential applications in catalysis, photoelectronics, and energy conversion and storage.
