Personal Profile

Dr. Luling Wu is a tenure-track Assistant Professor and "Tang Scholar" at Nanjing University. His research focuses on molecular sensing and fluorescent imaging. He received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bath in 2021, supported by the China Scholarship Council, under the supervision of Professor Tony D. James. He subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Westlake University with Professor Dan Yang (2022–2023) and as an EPSRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Bath with Professors Tony D. James and Simon E. Lewis (2023–2025).

Dr. Wu has published 38 papers as first author (including co-first author) or co-corresponding author, including five in J. Am. Chem. Soc., one in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and one in Nat. Rev. Chem. His work has been cited 7,700 times with an H-index of 27 (Google Scholar). He served as an editor of the RSC monograph Fluorescent Chemosensors and contributed one chapter. A dual-responsive fluorescent probe (ATP-LW) developed by his team has been commercialized by Merck. He also serves as an invited reviewer for the National Science Centre (Poland) and for more than thirty SCI journals, including JACS, Nat. Commun., and Chem. Rev.
