摘要:
Recent major stream of microfluidics is pressure driven fluidic control and chemical processing on PDMS substrate.  We initiated pressure driven microfluidics from the very early stage of microfluidics history in the early 1990's, while on-chip electrophoresis had been rising and had become major.  We established the basic concept and method of total integration of entire chemical processes for analysis, synthesis, cell experimental protocol, and so on.  That is why we conceive that we innovated microfluidics and founded today's microfluidics like immunoassay, extraction, cell culture, organs on chip, and other applications.  
Our key concept is micro unit operation MUO and continuous flow chemical processing CFCP.  Our original ultra-sensitive detector thermal lens microscope TLM is also a powerful readout device.  The practical and industrial applications were also successful.  Recently, we have pioneered nanofluidics since the beginning of the 2000's carrying the same methodologies as microfluidics.  Femto liter chemical processing and single/countable molecule detection have already been available.  It may innovate chemistry and biology at single molecule levels from the unit of mole. 
I will introduce these methodologies and examples of biomedical applications including the hospital use saving tens of patient lives and a single cell single molecule analysis.
 
简历:
Professor Kitamori is Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo (1998-present). He was Vice President of the University of Tokyo (2012-14) responsible for Human Resource Development and Internationalization, after serving as Dean of Faculty and Graduate School of Engineering(2010-12).Prior to joining the University of Tokyo in 1989, he was a researcher at Hitachi's Energy Research Lab.
     His areas of research are Micro/Extended-Nano Fluidics, Extended-Nano Space Chemistry, and Applied Laser Spectroscopy for Analytical Chemistry. He has published approximately 300 papers and 40 reviews. He has received numerous honors for his innovative research, including Simon-Widmer Award(Swiss Chemical Society)in 2017, IBM Faculty Award in 2017 and 2008, the Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry Award in 2009, and the Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work in 2006. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Lund University in 2016. He served as a senior vice president of The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry (2006-2008) and served as an associate editor of “Analyst “ (RSC) (2011-present).
